Mustafa Akyol's TEDx Talk: "Faith Versus Tradition In Islam"

Turkish Journalist Mustafa Akyol is certainly one of most unique figures to follow these days.  Mustafa has been arguing in his book "Islam Without Extremes: A Muslim Case For Liberty" and in much of his writings that Islam is not inherently against the core principles of liberty and democracy as many in the West have been stating, an argument that is gaining greater interest within the context of the Arab Spring and the rise of Islamist political parties. Here, Mustafa gives a TEDx talk in Warwick on some of the core philosophical foundations behind his ideas: what he perceives as the distinction between faith and tradition in religious thought.

You can follow Mustafa on Twitter at @AkyolinEnglish, and also through his blog "The White Path".
